Sometimes we have to say goodbye and start new. That is exactly what our homeowner wanted to do for her kitchen. Luckily this 35 year old kitchen held up, but none the less, the homeowner was looking for a dramatic change. In came our Home Improvement Specialist to design a beautiful new kitchen. We were able to create some more countertop space by eliminating the double wall oven and adding in a standard, slide in range. Another area we attached was the existing two tier desk which was eliminated to make way for added storage and a larger work surface. Another great modification was the refrigerator placement in our space and also the larger pantry cabinet with full extension pull out shelves. Our homeowner was looking to refresh and add to the options she received from her "custom home builder". We see this a lot in new home construction. Homeowners are drawn to purchasing new for a number of reasons, but unfortunately, most builders in the area offer limited selections and the overall quality fall short. Our homeowners were looking for was a simple bathroom remodel. They were not looking for any frills. Sometime less is more and in this case, the statement holds true. We started by removing all of the old finishes including the wallpaper. We then framed in the wall to pack out the existing recessed medicine cabinet cavity. From there, we were able to skim coat the existing walls and smooth them out to provide a great surface to paint. Our homeowners were looking to reconfigure their existing layout and add modern design elements into their new space. We were able to give them everything they wanted by knocking out their existing walk in panty and expanding on the footprint of the kitchen itself. We eliminated the peninsula from the design and added an island with available seating. Entertaining will now be a breeze with the newly opened up space.
